Sablefish or Black Cod is not a Cod at all, nor does it belong into the Cod family of fish either. Black Cod lives in the deep waters of Alaska, below 660 ft level. It has a succulent, distinctive taste and beautiful white fillet with a perfect flake. Black Cod is the premium whitefish of Alaska.They Spawn in late winter and early spring. Black Cod season is from
March to November every year.
